  Obituary	Jackie M. Cassidy, 65, passed away on May 12, 2019. She entered into the world on November 16 in North Carolina and Jackie was one of two children born to Elmo and Doris Doby. She met the love of her life, Eugene Cassidy, a decorated Army Veteran, and together they had a daughter, Candace Oldham. Jackie leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Doris Doby; daughter, Candace Oldham; brother, Nick Doby; granddaughter Jessica Oldham; nephew, Nick; and extended family and friends in Virginia and North Carolina. Jackie worked as a security guard at Atlantic Protective Security and was perhaps best recognized for her fiery red hair and sense of humor. She preferred the warmth of spring to the bitter winter and loved being able to find four-leaf clovers. She could often be found in a garden, lovingly tending to the greenery. When she was not gardening, Jackie loved to dance, and her favorite music came from the 60’s. She often reminisced about how good the days of her youth were, especially when it came to the good music and ways to pass the time. Jackie absolutely adored her lovely granddaughter Jessica. Jackie also had two beloved pets, her dog Duchess and her cat C.J. She valued having the comfort of her pets even more after losing her husband Gene to cancer in 2017. The ache Jackie’s passing left on us will be slow to heal; we will miss her on warm spring days, when we see four-leaf clovers and when the warm Virginia summer rains bring in a bountiful garden. Beyond her friends and family in North Carolina, her friends and family here in Virginia will also miss having her wit and spirit.
