  	Jesse Evert Ross, age 84, of Sanford, NC, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Westfield Rehabilitation and Health Center. He was born in Moore County, on June 4, 1938, to the late James Everett Ross, Jr and Mary Etta Collins. Mr. Ross was a farmer and a self-employed handyman. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Johnny and Jimmy Ross. Jesse is survived by sons, Melvin Ross of Aberdeen, Michael Ross of Cameron and David Ross and Linda of Sanford; daughter Sharon Maines of Hamlet; brothers Jerry Ross and Pat of Carthage, and Joseph Ross of Southern Pines; sisters, Joyce Tubbs and TP of Apex, Margie Barber and Bud of Carthage, and Dorothy Gillis and Dorsey of Roxboro; four grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, 2PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 2237 Camp Easter Rd, Carthage, NC 28327 with Rev. Greg Newton presiding. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1PM until the funeral hour. Burial is in the church cemetery.
