  Obituary	Elmer Lee Edwards, age 76, of Carthage, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 18, 2016 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. A celebration of life will be held at Highland Baptist Church on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. Elmer was born in Moore County on October 25, 1939 to Harvey Lee and Ruby Oakley Edwards. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church for over 29 years, where he served as a deacon for 28 years. Some of the things he enjoyed was fishing, accompanying his pastor on visiting church members and especially spending time with his family, church family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ruby Holder Edwards; sisters, Carol Ring, Betty Joyce Cook; a very special sister-in-law, Shirley Holder and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Lee and Ruby Oakley Edwards; brother, Charlie Wayne Edwards.
