    Obituary Mrs. Hazel Irene Holder Gibson, age 74, of Aberdeen, N.C., died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Gibson was born in Moore County, N.C., on Nov. 29, 1941, to the late Hardin Frank Holder and Cassie Leona Doby Holder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Childress and Dorothy Everhart and four brothers, Jack, Manuel, Junior, and Bobby Holder. She is survived by three sons, Melvin Olen Ross of Aberdeen, N.C., Michael Evert Ross of Cameron, N.C. and Gerald Wayne Gibson of Raeford, N.C.; a daughter, Sharon Maines of Aberdeen, N.C.; three sisters, Ruby Edwards of Vass, N.C., Carolyn Smith of New Paris, Ohio, and Shirley Holder of Carthage, N.C.; six grandchildren, Steven Alex Gibson, Joshua Matthew Gibson, Daphne Nicole Gibson, Robbie Dean Leviner, Jr., Lisa Nicole Ross, and Kellie Danielle Ross and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 2237 Camp Easter Road, Southern Pines, N. C. with the funeral service following at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Gregg Newton and Pastor Troy Wiley officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
