    Mrs. Leia Heartie Lawrence Doby, 84, of 3402 Simpson Mill Road, Dobson, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs Doby was born Dec 9, 1921 in Surry County, to the late Martin Luther and Pearl Shinault Lawrence. She was retired from Quality Mills and was a member of New Home Church of Christ. She was a great cook and leaves behind a church family, friends, and neighbors who will miss her Southern home cooking. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pattie and Michael McGill of Germanton; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Vickie Doby of Dobson; six grandchildren and a spouse, Lucas McGill of Boone; Brooke McGill and Sara McGill, both of Germanton; Jodi and Brian Salter of Rural Hall; and Jason Lewis and Shane Lewis both of Dobson; three great grandchildren, Isaac Salter, Caleb Salter, and Levi Salter all of Rural Hall; a brother and sister-in-law Albert and Louise Lawrence of Collinsville Va; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Doby was preceded in death by her husband, Curvie Doby. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm, Sunday, April 2 at New Home Church of Christ. The service will be officiated by Brother Carl Boles, Brother Tim Smith, and Mr. Lucas McGill, and burial will be in New Home Church of Christ Cemetery.
