    Obituary Funeral Services for Mrs. Mealie [sic] Frances Doby, 67, of Rt. 2, Mebane, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Liberty Primitive Baptist Church in Surry County. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Doby died Sunday afternoon in a Burlington hospital after one week of critical illness. Surviving are her husband, W.P. Doby; two daughters, Mrs. Lexie Hatch of Rt. 2, Mebane, and Mrs. Cassie Holden of Vass; six sons, Marvin, Everete, Danny, Elmore, and Paul Doby, all of Rt. 2, Mebane, and Melvin Doby of Rt. 1, Efland; one brother, Elmer Stanley of Bear Creek; and 23 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Sentell, Buck Jones, Ballard Westbrook, Jack Holder, Bobby Holder, and Junior Holder. (The Herald-Sun of Durham, NC. 12 Dec 1961. Page 2.)
