She passed away on July 10, 2006, in Statesville, Iredell County, NC, and was buried at Iredell Memorial Gardens in Statesville.

    Carolyn Doby Taylor, 66, of 348 Monticello Road died Monday, July 10, 2006, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Taylor was born March 6, 1940, in Davie County and was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Ollie Parker Doby. She was a partner in Taylor Furniture and on July 1, 1958, she married Jimmy Taylor who survives. In addition to her husband, Jimmy, Carolyn is survived by her daughter: Rene Crowder (Phillip) of Mooresville; her son: Jeff Taylor (Ronda) of Statesville; three grandchildren: Erica Taylor, Stephanie Taylor, and Logan Taylor, all of Statesville; four sisters: Christine Cobb of Winston-Salem, Marie Elmore, Dorothy Crowson, and Shirley Chapman, all of Statesville; and one brother: J.D. Doby of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held 2:00 Thursday at Monticello United Methodist Church with Rev. David Comer officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour and burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Wednesday at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.legacy.com. Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home is serving the Taylor family.
