    Biography Perry Arnold Doby was born on July 29, 1936, in Dobson, Surry County, North Carolina, to Walter Henry Doby and Ollie Francis (Parker) Doby. On the 1940 Census, he lived with his parents and siblings in Clarksville Township, Davie County, NC. On the 1950 Census, he lived with his parents and siblings in Calahaln Township, Davie County, NC. He married Linda Ruth Reavis on November 11, 1955, in Iredell County, NC. Linda was born on September 16, 1937, in Iredell County to Kenneth B. Reavis and Esma Josephine (Smith) Reavis. Perry passed away on September 9, 1995, in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, NC. Linda passed away on April 19, 2008, in Iredell County. Both were buried at Sandy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Harmony, NC.

    Mr. Perry Arnold Doby, 59, 229 Doby Road, Mocksville, died Saturday morning at Forsyth Memorial Hospital following a serious illness of two months. He worked for the NC Dept of Transportation for 22 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Linda Reavis; one son, Steve Doby of Mocksville; one grandson, Austin Doby of Mocksville; two brothers, J.D. Doby of Winston-Salem and Garnet Doby of Cleveland; five sisters, Mrs. Christine Cobb of Winston-Salem, Mrs. Marie Elmore, Mrs. Dorothy Crowson, Mrs. Shirley Chapman, and Mrs. Carolyn Taylor, all of Statesville. He was a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 3 pm by Rev. David Kiser, Rev. Howard Wagoner, and Rev. Paul Simpson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Reavis Funeral Home Chapel in Harmony from 7 to 9 pm Sunday evening. Flowers will be accepted, however, memorials may be made to the church or charity of the donor's choice.
