    Obituary 20 Apr 2008 
    Linda Reavis Doby, 70, of 229 Doby Road, Mocksville, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at her residence. She was born on Sept. 16, 1937, in Iredell County, and was the daughter of Esma Smith Reavis and the late Kenneth Reavis. Linda was a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church in Harmony where she served as church treasurer for more than 40 years and was a member of the choir and the WMU. She retired from AT&T after 33 years of service and then worked with Martin and Van Hoy Law Offices for 19 years. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Perry A. Doby, in 1995. Survivors include a son, Steve Doby of Mocksville; a grandson, Austin Doby of Mocksville; her mother, Esma Smith Reavis of Statesville; a sister, Dorothy R. Mayberry and husband, John, of Harmony; and a brother, Ralph E. Reavis of Statesville. Funeral services celebrating Linda's life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Sandy Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Wagoner and the Rev. David Kiser officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour and burial will follow in the church cemetery. J.P. Haynes, Rob Raisbeck, Thomas Stroud, Lane Reavis, Junior Joyner, and Richmond Reavis will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today in the Ernest M. Troutman Memorial Chapel of Reavis Funeral Home in Harmony and at other times will assemble at the residence. The family would like to express appreciation to Evelyn Harris for her kindness and the care she provided to Mrs. Doby and her family.
