  Biography	Anny Doby was born around 1823 to Alsey Doby and Mary "Polly" (Snead) Doby. Her age range on the 1830 Census places her birth year between 1821-1825. She was born in either Rowan or Davidson County, NC, depending on her birth year (Davidson was created from Rowan in 1822). Anny married Hugh Doby on 9 Jan 1841 in Davidson County, NC. It's not known who Hugh's parents were. All the Doby males counted on the 1830 and 1840 Census are known, so it's likely that Hugh was from a different branch of the Doby family. There was a Doby family from the South Carolina branch living in Rowan County during this timeframe so it's possible that he was part of that family. It's not known what happened to Hugh, but the lack of records suggests that he may have died before the 1850 Census. Sometime before 1907, Anny remarried to a Mr. Mills. There is no record of her death or burial.
