    Biography Hardin Wayne Doby, who went by Wayne, was born on September 27, 1920, in Surry County, North Carolina to William "Billie" Thomas Doby and Maude Lee (Fulk) Doby. On the 1930 and 1940 Census, he was living with his parents and siblings in Dobson Township, Surry County. On February 16, 1942, he registered for the World War II draft in Guilford County, North Carolina. He lived and worked on Rock Creek Dairy in Whitsett. He was wed to Ada May Lynch on November 27, 1952, in Guilford County, NC. Ada was born on October 29, 1923, in Stokes County, NC, to Drewry “Drew” William Lynch and Martha Elizabeth “Sissy” Martin. Wayne passed away on June 30, 1970, in Graham, Alamance County, NC, and was buried in Brims Grove Cemetery in Brims Grove, Stokes County. Ada remarried to Alton Bradley Rich. She passed away on January 26, 2008, in Greensboro, Guilford County, NC, and was buried in Linwood Cemetery in Graham.

    Hardin Wayne Doby, 49, of Graham died Tuesday morning at his home following several years of failing health. Doby was a landscape worker and a native of Surry County. Funeral Will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at McClure Funeral Home, Graham. Burial will be in Brim’s Grove Baptist Church cemetery, Pilot Mountain. Survivors are widow, Mrs. Ada Lynch Doby; son, Jimmy Wayne Doby of the home; mother, Mrs. Maude F. Doby of Tr. 1, McLeansville; sisters, Mr. Eva Edwards of Burlington, Mrs. Beulah Andrews of Whitsett; brothers, Troy Doby of RT. 1, Whitsett, Clarence Doby of Graham, Claude Doby of Burlington, Marley Doby of Mebane, Cletus Doby of Rt1 1, McLeansville, and Floyd Doby of Greenville, S.C. The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today.
