Survivors include four daughters Shirley Holder of Carthage, Carolyn Smith of New Paris, Ohio, Hazel Gibson of Aberdeen, and Ruby Edwards of Carthage, four brothers, Marvin, Everette, Gurney, and Paul Doby of Mebane; one sister, Lexie Jacobs of Mebane; 32 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
