    Biography Floyd MouLtry Doby was born on July 5, 1927, in Dobson Township, Surry County, North Carolina, to Richard "Dick" Green Doby and Pearl Jane (Griffin) Doby. On the 1930 Census, he lived with his parents and siblings in Dobson. On the 1940 Census, he lived with his parents and siblings in Jonesboro Township, Lee County, NC. On the 1950 Census, he was 23 years old and lived with his parents and siblings in Carthage Township, Moore County, NC. He was married to Martha Louise Bibey. He passed away on June 14, 1985, in Carthage, and was buried at Rocky Fork Christian Church Cemetery in Sanford, Lee County.

    Floyd (Cricket) Doby, 57, of Carthage died Friday at his home. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Rock Ford Christian Church. Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Judy Foster of Vass; sister, Mrs. Creola Cole of Carthage; brother, George Doby of Sanford, James Doby of Kernersville; five grandchildren. The family will be at Fry-Prickett Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today.
