    Biography Alonza Edgar Doby was born on October 20, 1914, in Surry County, North Carolina to Charlie Edgar Doby and Mary Etta (Badgett) Doby. On the 1920 and 1930 Census Report, he was living with his parents and siblings in Dobson Township, Surry County. He married Eveline “Eva” Ellen Corder on October 17, 1936, in Hillsville, Carroll County, Virginia. Eva was born on April 25, 1914, in Surry County, to Ruel Roark Corder and Parthenia Ellan (Bowman) Corder. Alonzo passed away on February 16, 1996, in Mount Airy, Surry County. Eva passed away on May 5, 1981, in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, NC. Both were buried at New Home Church of Christ Cemetery in Dobson.
