    Obituary Samuel "S.D." Parker, Jr., 68, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Parker was born May 17, 1942 to the late Samuel D. & Ola P. Parker, Sr. He was co-owner of Parker Tire for 44 years. Mr. Parker was a member of Turners Creek Baptist Church where he served as Choir Director for 27 years. He also coached Deep Creek Baseball for 14 years. Mr. Parker was also a charter member of the Courtney Ruritan Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Charles L. Parker, and William Parker. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lela Dobbins Parker; his children, Cregg (Inge) Parker, Yadkinville, Chris (Gracie) Parker, Yadkinville, Nikki (Randy) Williams, Yadkinville, Aaron Parker, Charlotte, and April (Gerald) Collins, Yadkinville; grandchildren, Drew Parker, Savanna Parker, Nathan Parker, Landon Parker, Austin Williams, Ashlyn Williams, Adeline Maynard, Anderson Collins; step-grandchildren, J.L. Davis, Ayssa Sanchez, Carleigh Collins, Camille Collins; step-great-grandson, Chase Davis; sister, Fayerine Nance; and a brother, Max Parker. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Turners Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Bobby Russell and the Rev. David Maynard. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the Service. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family would like to send a very special thanks to Clemmons Family Practice, Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home and also to the A.C.E Unit at Baptist Hospital for the loving care given to Mr. Parker. Online condolences may be made at www.gentry funeralservice.com.
